WHO WOULDA KNOWN???

We bought a new matttress set for one of the bedrooms upstairs and carted off the "antique" bed springs to the dump. In the process of pulling the box springs down the stairs I noticed the unique springs in the bottom. I just had to cut them all loose! (Mike was thrilled). I have about 40 springs. I knew I could find a purpose for them! Do you like my vase holder? I guess I'm getting to be a true junker!

THE PILLOW PROJECT...

One down, three to go...I used a vintage scarf for this one...I'm thinking maybe some cool buttons on one...the match is definitely better!

BEAUTIFUL MT. RAINER...

Paradise inn...closed for the winter! Snow up to the guest room windows!A full parking lot!

We stayed overnight at the Longmire Inn...then had a really yummy breakfast...omlettes, scones, and juice and headed up to the mountain...

This is what we saw when we came around the corner...

The parking lot was packed and they had some awesome sledding hills for the kiddos...we thought of Halle, Cole, William, and Andrew...

$11.00!!! Will be perfect in the breakfast nook in the kitchen...I have a honey-do when the boy gets home! I just need to get rid of that wallpaper!!! Any ideas???

TRUST YOUR CRAZY IDEAS...FEBRUARY'S CALENDAR QUIP...

Some ideas sound logical right from the start. The wheel and fire were obviously great concepts from the get-go. But I wonder who first watched a chicken lay an egg and said, "Hey, let's eat that!" Yuck! That was probably met with some skepticism. At the time, no one had visions of fluffy chiffons, lofty meringues, yummy omelets, or delicate souffles. New ideas always encounter criticism and opposition. But remember, all great ideas started in somebody's basement with one man or woman with a vision. The key is to believe in yourself and persevere. So trust your crazy ideas. They could change the world!

MY NEW PROJECT...

Several months ago I found these great down-filled pillows at an estate sale...$1.00 a piece...had them dry cleaned and they are great, but are a little too white/cream and don't match the sofa...

Voila! I found some great real linen and I'm going to make a transformation...I can picture buttons, maybe some stenciling, piping...mmm...

This one is my inspiration....I'll post the finished project...
